ECP and Beijing Science and Technology Commission Organized the US-China (Beijing) Green Park Seminar
US-China (Beijing) Green Park Seminar was successfully held at Boda Mansion in Beijing Economy and Development Area（BEDA) on October 28th. The seminar is hosted by ECP and Beijing Science and Technology Collaboration Center (STCC) which is attached to BJ Science and Technology Commission (BJ STC). On the seminar, both parties signed the “US-China Green Park Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding” to establish the pragmatic cooperation in green park field. ECP and STCC preliminarily confirmed to focus the priorities in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province and to work on technical exchange and support, program demo and commercial cooperation. Therefore, we expect to have the useful practical experience and technical support from the sustainable development, construction and the promotion of the demo green parks.
On behalf of the US government and hosts, Mr. Val Huston, the principle commercial officer of US Embassy Beijing , Mr. Lei Ting, the deputy director of STCC, and Mr. Xu Haihong, the managing director of ECP , all expressed their best wishes and great support to the US-China Green Park initiative.
On the seminar, ECP member companies’ representatives delivered the presentations in the related topics. For instance, Ms. Bai Lu, Michelle Bai, JCI China strategy industry development director delivered a speech on “Low carbon action, Spreading in China”; Ms. Carolyn Szum, Senior Consulant from ICF, delivered the speech on “Strategic energy and carbon management for industrial Park”; Mr. Peter Zheng ,General manager of North Technology Center from 3M presented on “Sustainable solution in green buildings of 3M”. During the policy dialogue session, Mr. Wang Youwei, chairman of China Green Building Council and representatives from BEDA, Shijingshan Park, Intel and Cummins discussed the related policy, current status, challenges and experience on green park’s construction and development.
There are over 80 people from more than 40 companies and organizations attended the seminar. Also, we invited some representatives from Beijing, Tianjin and Shandong parks, and some people related in parks design and constructions from universities and institutes. They all had an active discussion on sharing their concerned fields.
